  • SLI and SLO Flow UX Enhancements: Our recent launch of value SLIs led to some confusion around the query builder behavior for value-based and ratio-based SLIs. To address this, we've enhanced the interface, allowing users to explicitly specify whether their SLI is a value or a percentage. This choice determines how the rest of the flow functions.

For value-based SLIs, users can now define a "Unit," such as milliseconds, tickets, requests, epochs etc. For percentage-based SLIs, the unit is automatically set to % .

We've also made significant updates to the query builder to improve usability. You can select aggregators from a dropdown menu without needing to worry about the DSL. The metrics dropdown, populated with the data points you send via the ingestion URL, makes it easier to identify the specific data points you want to use for your SLI definition. Additionally, we've added a new query parameter, FROM which emulates the FROM behavior in SQL. This feature allows you to filter events based on specific keys sent to the ingestion URL.

If you have any questions about how the two flows work or want to work through your SLIs with us, feel free to reach out via hello@rated.co!

  • Adaptive y-axis on SLO compliance chart: Introduced an adaptive y-axis to be flexible to accept different scales and enable a focused view on current performance

  • Autofill name and description for SLOs and SLAs: We've introduced an autofill feature for SLO and SLA creation. It automatically suggests names and descriptions based on the data and metrics you've selected, streamlining the setup process and reducing the time spent on manual entry. It also means you generate meaningful names and descriptions that align with your chosen metrics consistently across your SLOs and SLAs.
